Ordering
How do I place an order?

Simply e-mail us your favourite photo, choose your preferred size and options. Once your e-mail is received, we’ll begin creating a Simulation. We will send you the simulation with costing for approval. If you decide to go ahead, we will require a 50% deposit, after which the work will start. All communication is done via e-mail or Whatsapp

High-quality, well-lit photos with good contrast produce the best results. The subject should be clear, in focus, and not too far away. Portraits with uncluttered backgrounds generally create the most detailed artwork.

In many cases, yes. We’ll review your photo before production and let you know if we believe the quality will affect the final artwork.

Can I preview it?

Yes. A digital preview will be sent for approval before production begins.

Each artwork is handmade to order. Production typically takes 5 business days, plus shipping time. Further, it depends on amount of Orders in the pipeline (or Stringline 🙂 )

We offer several sizes to suit different spaces. Available sizes are shown on the Custom Portraits Page.

Shipping costs?

Shipping costs are calculated based on your location and included in the costing send to you together with the simulation image.

Every artwork is carefully packaged using a wooden crate and protective materials to ensure it arrives safely and in perfect condition.

Cancellations?

Because every artwork is custom-made specifically for you, cancellations may not be possible once production has begun.

Due to the personalised nature of our products, we cannot accept returns unless the item arrives damaged or there is a manufacturing defect.

Send us a photo of the damage and if we agree, we will arrange with our Courier to collect the piece in the same wooden crate it was send to you. Upon receiving the piece, we will either fix or replace it.

Cleaning?

For the frame : Dust gently using a soft brush or a dry microfiber cloth. Avoid using water or cleaning chemicals. 

For the artwork : keep feather dusters and rags away! Use a hairdryer on cold setting and blow off the dust

Our artworks are carefully handcrafted using quality materials designed to maintain their appearance for many years when displayed indoors. The pin nails are made from Stainless Steel to prevent rust. Keep out of the reach of children!

Yes, in special cases we can frame the portrait with glass. We have found however that it takes away the uniqueness of the nails and string; it sorts of disturb the 3D viewing you get from the artwork. Further, the reflection of the glass adds to the viewing disturbance. We can add Artistic glass with very little reflection if you prefer (which is expensive!) As a final note: Our self portrait display has been around a long while and the blowing off of dust with a hairdryer has worked very well up to now..
